One of the games that Quiss and Ajayi play in Walking on Glass by Iain Banks.

The only rule that is defined is that bishops move on their own colour, ignoring pieces on the other colour. From this, I believe I can work out an approximation of the other pieces moves.

King: Moves one or two squares,
Queen: Moves any number of squares unimpeded, OR moves any number of same colour squares unimpeded.
Bishop: Moves any number of same colour squares unimpeded.
Knight: May move one or three squares. (This is so that it will always end up on the other colour square after each move)
Rook: May move any number of squares unimpeded.
Pawn: May move one square forward if not taking, or two squares forward if taking or the first move (equivalent to moving diagonally.)
