Currently, I do not have the use of my right thumb because of my activities yesterday. Being that I am right handed, this causes a major problem, or so it seems.

It is natural for me to use my right hand for everything, such as writing, eating, grabbing objects, and any other routine task. However, without my opposable thumb, how would I be able to do anything?

I have found that it is relatively simple for me to grap objects using my fingers and the heel of my hand. There are many different ways to hold a pencil that doesn't include my thumb. The day to day tasks are easy to perform, however getting used to the method is different. Basically, there is nothing that I can't do using only my fingers. That tells me that there is no big deal about opposable thumbs. So far, I'm into day 1 of life without the temporary use of my thumb.
