The name for the area of skin that runs between the pubis and the upper thigh. The orbicula is named for the Zona Orbicularus, a collar that encircles the top of the femur (Orbicular meaning "spherical" or "like an orb"). Commonly referred to as the "legpit", this area can be compared to the Axilla, or armpit.
