I made a garden from a ferris wheel
Vegetation bound around a sideways carousel of steel
Soiled sod buds and scions were rolling rooftops
as the cars did a clockwise zenith and kneel

Tending wild growth from hoses at the bottom
like a postal service worker trying to sort and shuffle letters into line
Leave the pesticides to people wearing goggles--
I don’t want to raise anything, just keep what's already here alive

I dream of weather patterns sinking like a stone
in a cave where the ocean had no better place to go
Or could I build a greenhouse big enough to find
the air to give you a mind that I could afford to leave alone

And the garden told me to burn it if I ever found
a difference between their heads in the soil and my head in the ground
