Owen Glendower is an anglicisation of Owain Glyndwr, the Welsh Rebel leader who fought against Henry IV and Henry V of England.

William Shakespeare used this version of the name in his play Henry IV Part 1. For this reason it is the best-known spelling to the English-speaking world. For further information, check the Welsh language variant above.
