A lake in the Cascade Mountains of Washington State. At 2870 feet elevation, the lake is very secluded and can only be hiked into. The hike is approximately 5 miles. The trailhead is located about 6 miles from the town of Packwood, Washington, about 92 miles north east of Portland, Oregon, and about 65 miles south east of Tacoma, Washington. It is on the south east slope of Mount Rainier.

Upon reaching the lake, you are awe struck by the view of 6500-foot Old Snowy Mountain reflecting off a usually mirror-smooth mountain lake. There are many spots to camp and fish. 2 trails extend beyond the lake to Lost lake to the north and the Goat Rocks Wilderness to the east.

If you are ever in the state of Washington and want to do a good day hike or even an overnight camping trip, check out Packwood Lake.
