Pam Dawber was born on October 18, 1951 in Detroit. She is most famous for her role as Mindy in the TV series "Mork and Mindy".

Pam started performing at an early age, and was on the cast of several musicals during her high school years. At the end of her first year at Oakland Community College she went to a model agency, which started a carreer of modelling for magazine adverts and TV commercials.

From there Pam went on to do some theatre work, which in turn landed her the role as Mindy. Unfortunately for her it is the most memorable of all her roles, although she has continued to act in TV and film ever since.

In 1987 she married Mark Harmon, actor in Chicago Hope, with whom she has two sons, Sean and Ty. In 1996 the couple were in the headlines as they rescued a young driver out of his burning car seconds before it exploded.

It's a little known fact but Pam Dawber almost did not get the role of Mindy in Mork and Mindy. After being signed, a producer determined her breasts were not big enough. He wanted her to wear rubber falsies so she'd be a bigger piece of eye candy on screen. However, Dawber steadfastly refused, eventually winning out and playing the Mindy role au natural.

A victory for small breasted women everywhere!
