Pepin of Herstal, or Pepin II, was the Mayor of the Palace under the Merovingian Kings Dagobert II, Theodoric III, and three following kings. He was the real power in the kingdom from 680 to 714.

His illegitimate son Charles Martel led the army to rule the kingdom after Pepin's death.

He was Charlemagne's great-grandfather.
