Fourth generation French pastry chef. Born November 20, 1961, he became the youngest person ever to be named France's Pastry Chef of the Year and the only pastry chef to have been decorated as a Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters (both in 1997). Came to fame in the pastry kitchens of Fauchon in Paris. His book, Desserts by Pierre Herme, won the 1999 Julia Child Cookbook of the Year. Vogue calls him the Picasso of Pastry.
