1 stick (½ cup) butter
¾ cup sugar
4 eggs
5-10 slices (stale) white bread
1 can crushed pineapple

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time -- mix until smooth. Drain pineapple. Cut bread into tiny cubes. Add pineapple and bread to the creamed mixture. Put mixture in greased 1-quart casserole container, and bake in a 350° F. oven for 1 hour, or until firm and browned on top.

Variants:

  • Can substitute margarine for butter.
  • Can use 1/8 cup sugar for a less sweet stuffing.
  • If the stuffing mixture is dry, add the drained pineapple juice to the mixture.
