Much the good natured giant, Porthos is the jolly, good humoured and vain libertine who provides The Three Musketeers with many of its comic moments.

Having joined the musketeers in hopes of cutting a dashing figure and landing a noble and rich mistress, Porthos concentrates his efforts on one particular middle aged bourgeois lady who will perversely add nothing to his waning finances.
