Eugenie Victoria Helena Windsor is the second daughter of the Duke of York (formerly Prince Andrew) and Sarah, Duchess of York, and a granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II, making her a princess in the Royal Family of the United Kingdom.

She was born on March 23, 1990 at 7:58 PM GMT at the Portland Hospital in London, England, and named after Empress Eugénie, wife of Napoleon III of France. Princess Eugenie went to primary (elementary) school at Coworth Park School in Windlesham, Surrey, and from 2001-2003 preparatory school at St. George's School, Windsor, before starting at Marlborough College in Wiltshire in 2003.

In October 2002 she underwent corrective surgery for curvature of the spine; this is is a relatively common operation for adolescent girls and is believed to have been entirely successful. She appears to have dealt well with her parents' divorce in 1996, and is reported to enjoy hot dogs, corn on the cob, soccer, computer games, Barbie dolls, purple (her favourite colour) and The Lion King).

At present she is sixth in line to the throne, behind her uncle the Prince of Wales, her cousins Prince William and Prince Harry, her father the Duke of York, and her older sister Princess Beatrice of York. Her correct formal address is Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie of York ("Your Royal Highness" or "Ma'am" if speaking to her).
