A button in the top right of a keyboard. It often shares identity with the SysRq key. This key is not active on many applications but is supposed to print the current screen, hence the name.

By default in Microsoft Windows, PrintScreen copies the entire screen to the clipboard, from which it can then be pasted into an application. Alt + PrintScreen copies just the current window.

Also, some KVM switches use PrintScreen to bring up the On Screen Display for selecting which machine to control. In this case, you usually press it again to send a PrintScreen to the machine.

The PrintScreen key is often labelled PrtSc.
