The Provo Canyon project consists of a 3,000-foot long cut and tunnels segment that extends between Upper Falls and Wildwood. Two tunnels, Narrows and Wildwood are constructed along the westbound roadway. Additionally, the eastbound roadway required a third tunnel adjacent to the westbound Wildwood tunnel. The tunnel configurations are "curved wall" horseshoe shaped and each tube carries two lanes of traffic with an 8' shoulder. The tunnels are short (none greater than 600 feet) and therefore mechanical ventilation is not required; but all tunnels are equipped with tunnel lighting and life support safety systems. The tunnels were completed and opened to traffic in the Spring of 1999.

props to my peeps at Mr. Tunnel, yo.
