Pug

Pugs are affectionate and lovable dogs with a few distinguishing traits that prospective owners should be wary of. They have a problem with constant shedding and gas. My father was told by the pet store employee that this dog rarely shed, which was the deciding factor in his decision to buy the animal. Unfortunately, we found the opposite to be true. The Pug merrily leaves hair on everything he comes in contact with. The fact that his hair is also very short, makes this an even bigger annoyance since they're hard to clean up. It's also common for this breed to launch an attack of SBD's (Silent But Deadly farts). Another problem is with the Pug's digestive system. It is finicky and inflexible, making it a hassle when they're young to find the right food to feed them. They also have a tendency to be lazy, making it sometimes difficult to keep them physically fit. These are all sizable concerns to deal with but don't let this negativity steer you away from them. My family has had many dogs, and so far the Pug has been the most enjoyable breed we have come across. If you're considering owning an animal, I suggest stopping by the local Humane Society and adopting a Pug.
