Purdue University has its main campus located in West Lafayette, Indiana (Includes 4 other in-state campuses) and was founded in 1869 and is a result of the Morrill Land Grant Act. Named after benefactor, John Purdue. It currently is among the top 10 in the nation in engineering schools and is part of the Big 10 Conference. The football team is the Boilermakers. Douglas Comer is also a professor here. Interestingly, Purdue owns more land that the state itself.
