file included with most
programs and
distributions. It can contain
instructions,
legal information, or
any other thing the
user should know (and therefore
read before using the program, hence the
title of the
text file).
However,
people seem to
skip this file most of the time, which inspired
ioctl's
theory of the donotreadme file.
