Founded in 1985, the Rainforest Action Network works to protect tropical rainforests and the rights of the peoples living in and around them. This San Francisco based organization convened the first international conference on the world's rainforests, and has run a number of campaigns against destruction of old growth forests. They run media campaigns to educate consumers on which products which are made using ecologically dangerous methods.
