robbery, (usually from
commercial premises), where entry is gained by using a
vehicle as a
battering ram to break through the
shop window or
security shutter. Vehicle of choice was usually an
SUV since they are robust enough to be reversed out and driven away fully laden!
Ram raiding was quite popular for a while until countermeasures such as retractable bollards were developed.
