A moderately difficult skateboarding trick which can be used to spice up the simplest tricks. There are three ways a revert can be applied:
1. This is the simplest method. Take into account a pop shove it (for this case a simple 180 pop shove it). This is a very easy trick, but it can be spiced up by a revert. If you do a normal backside pop shove it (the easiest method), when it has completed its 180 catch it and spin it in a frontside pop shove it, then catch it and ride off (vice versa if you started with a frontside). Other flip reverts are kickflip reverts (kickflip to heelflip), heelflip reverts (heelflip to kickflip) etc. all require a fair bit of height.
2. A simple 180 can be worth more than a 360, or even a 540, if it is reverted. Do a 180 and then simply spin the opposite direction to do a revert 180, which is essentially a 360. You can also do 360 revert 180 (spin one way 360, then the other 180), or 540 revert 360 (spin one way 540, then the other 360). If you see 360 revert, that means that it is a 360 one way, then a 360 the other.
3. This is an incredibly hard method. This can finally be used in a plant, but you must have very strong arms. As you begin to dismount you must push off from the coping with your arm and spin 180 as you drop in again.
A revert is also a move that can be performed on a snowboard.

1. First a little speed is obtained.
2. The upper body should then rotate in the direction that the revert is going to spin before the board moves.
3. The rider should concentrate on shifting weight onto the front corner of the board that is to dig into the snow, while unweighting the tail. (eg, if the rider is normal footed and is doing a frontside revert, they should weight the front heelside edge of the board.)
4. The energy obtained from rotating the body in step 2 is now used to swing the board around 180 degrees, landing along the edge opposite from the edge that was weighted in the beginning.

A variation on this trick includes using the energy stored in the board during the weighting of the nose to ollie while rotating. This airtime helps if the spin is to complete 360 degrees. Also, through the balance obtained by being a master ;) this spin can be continued on the nose indefinitely.
