Groningen.
The RuG was founded in 1614 and became one of the biggest universities in the
Netherlands. From the beginning until now the
university was known for its many different disciplines.
Today the Rug has over 20.000 students divided into 10 faculties (Economics, Theology, Arts, Medical Sciences, Psychology/Education?Sociology, Law, Spatial Sciences, Philosophy and Mathematics & Natural Sciences).
Nowadays the Rug is internationally know for it's
medical research, the huge archaeological bone-collection and especially for the huge
Turbomolecular pump, which can be found in the
science park of the university (Zernike).
