A small city in Los Angeles county, California. aka "People's Republic of Santa Monica." Famous for its rent control (you couldn't get an apartment there), and for Jane Fonda, who no longer lives there. Its pier is something of an L.A. landmark.
The city where God himself would live if heaven didn't exist. Not that it doesn't have its problems. It is as the writeup on the left says famous for its pier. It also has more world-class restaurants than almost any city of its size. Santa Monica is also blessed with the best combination of weather, movies, culture and access to high technology found anywhere in the known universe. I, qnone, also live there which means I am highly biased.
