Schwabing is also known as the
students quarter of
Munich (for you
Americans, it's a place, not 25c). It's the area where you'll find some of the best
restaurants and
bars in Munich, including
Gunther Murphys and 3 other
Irish pubs. The cultural centre of Schwabing is
Leopold Strase, which runs North out of
Odeon Platz. To get to where the clubs are, take the
U-bahn to the
University stop, and look out for the
big white man on the side of the road.
I still find it a little odd the way Munich is divided into
quarters. I find the well-known
photocopying quarter especially peculiar.
