The first time I met him he was walking along the beach. He had a secret life that I never knew about. The door opened and I caught a glimpse of him. I don’t know if he’ll understand this or not. I’m pretty sure he won’t approve. That’s just the kind of guy he is.


I. Generosity is not measured by what is given,
rather by what is sacrificed
Actions inspired by compassion
not by headlines

II. Putting aside a busy schedule the accountant walked
a mile in his Wingtips
to bring a single mom
a single tank of gas
for no reason at all

III.
Looking out for numbers 345, 346 and 347,
rather than number 1,
Everyday heroes fly below the radar
humbling those of us who admire
lower case benevolence
