The idea behind sensory meditation is to attain a connection with something tangible through only one sense. This is easily described but obviously much harder to attain. So I'll describe a method:

First pick a sense. It can be any one but I'd recommend only picking one (that is if you want to focus on sight don't listen to music or light scented candles).

Now get an object that emits something that can be interpreted by that sense. Now arrange yourself such that you can sense whatever it is your trying to undisturbed and focus on the specific sight, smell, sound, feeling, taste with which you're trying to connect.

inhale.

Now begin to shut out everything but your focus. The ultimate goal is to interpret this thing in only one way and sense nothing else.

exhale.

Repeat until enlightened.
