心斎橋

Area in central Osaka, Japan, just north of Namba. It is known as the shopping capital of the city, and features a huge underground shopping mall with Japanese (Daimaru) and American (Gap) stores on top.

America Mura, the "American Village," is also in Shinsaibashi (you can find it by looking for a building with a Statue of Liberty on top). Despite what the name might indicate, it isn't an expatriate community: rather, it's another cluster of shops specializing in what the Japanese perceive as American fashion. (Namely, wacky T-shirts written in Engrish.)
