Silver Jews is a
musical outlet for the
writing of David Berman. That is, the
Silver Jews is David Berman's band. He is the chief
songwriter,
lyricist, and
guitarist /
vocalist. The Silver Jews feature Stephen Malkmus and Bob Nastanovich, both from
Pavement. David Berman also has a book of
poetry entitled
Actual Air published by Open City
books.
They have an interesting neo-country sound mixed with indie sensibilities. The lyrical content is truly interesting, which is also evident in Berman's poetry.
