Famous Nazi-hunter, born December 31, 1908; died September 20, 2005. Wiesenthal enlisted the help of Israeli, West German, and other governments to track down about a thousand Nazi war criminals. He is best known for catching Adolf Eichmann in Argentina, and also Fritz Stangl, who was a commandant in two death camps. Wiesenthal also started an organization called The Documentation Centre on the Fate of Jews and Their Persecutors, which tracked down Jewish refugees and gathered evidence for war crimes tribunals.

The protagonist in the movie The Boys From Brazil is based on Wiesenthal.
