Stuart Murdoch sounding a bit down.
The Jeepster web site claims that they don't list the lyrics 'simply because they're very easy to pick up,' but it's only today, with the help of the 'Belle and Sebastian References to Music' page at http://www.fineran.demon.co.uk/basrefs/music.htm, that I've figured out what Stuart Murdoch's actually singing, so I don't buy this. I've been trying to to figure out that bit about 'songs to learn and sing' for years.
Thanks to that site, I can also tell you that 'Songs for Children' is the name of The Pastels' first single, released in 1982, and 'Songs to Learn and Sing' is an Echo & The Bunnymen album, released in 1985.
