A pretty darn cool record label started by the members of Sonic
Youth sometime in 1997. That year they released SYR 1 - 3, which
contain the music of Sonic Youth with some additional help from Jim
O'Rourke on 3. The production work was mainly done by Wharton
Tiers. Just to be 31337 they put out these first 3 with the song
titles / liner notes in, I believe, French, German, and
Esperanto respectively.
The latest release has been SYR 4 Goodbye 20th Century which is
a double CD set of work from the members of Sonic Youth and various
other artists.
The SYR catalogue is distributed through Smells Like Records.
