Ok so you´ve been to British Columbia or to Holland and you´ve brought home some pot seeds.
Now you have to germinate them before your little botany project can really begin.

Step 1:

Get some paper towels and wet them down (not soaking dripping wet, but damp all over). Place them on a plate. Then place the seeds on them. Then place another wet paper towel over the seeds covering them. Then place another plate over the top so that the environment stays dark and moist.

Step 2:

Make sure the plates are in a warm location. Put them on your space heater and turn it up to about 80 degrees Farenheit or 23 degrees Centigrade.

Step 3

Wait about 24-48 hours. The seed should be cracked and the root tip should have now emerged. If not wait another 24 hours.

Step 4

Once the root tips emerge plant about 1/2" deep (root tip facing down) into soil or other growing medium (depending on wether you´re growing indoor or outdoor.

Step 5

Place the potted seeds into the light (natural or artifical - if artificial make sure bulbs are far enough away from dirt so that the sprout won´t roast). Wait again... most likely within 48 hours you will see a sprout emerge from the soil.

Achtung!!!

Do not overwater the sprouting marijuana, this will cause the root tip to rot and kill your plants - DEAD!

Step 6

Once you have sprouts just water them 1-2 times a day, and give them lots of light (12 hours or so a day). Watch those buggers grow.

In my experiment I had 10 seeds (5 Afgani #1, 5 Maui Waui) mixed up on a plate. Within 4 days 9 of the 10 seeds had cracked. One never did. These 9 seeds are all now in dirt and have grown like mad.

Next Up: Sexing Marijuana Plants (look for this installment in late June).
