Anything accomplished by a narrow margin, such as parallel parking in a small space or winning a hotly contested election. The implied reference is to some object that fits so tightly that it squeaks while going in.

Of such things, one can say "you just squeaked by" or "That was a real squeaker".

Something, such as an election, that is won, passed, or achieved by the narrowest of margins or at the *very* LAST moment. And I *do* mean the LAST MOMENT.

Example: Arizona Diamondbacks winning the World Series in 2001. Yes!!!
