Twice in the last hour, in two completely separate locations, an unprovoked squirrel has come up close enough for me to touch it. I had no food (except raw chicken, which I don't think it would be interested in.)I just said "Hello" like I always do, and they started following me around, running around me and sniffing at my shoe. One eventually found a nut, and the other just watched me go into my building.

I'm trying to brush it off as something else; maybe I have discovered a secret squirrel pheremone that makes squirrels go wild for my feet. I could have picked it up from my balcony, I suppose. But I've never had this happen before, and I've been out on my balcony lots.

I mean, I wouldn't have thought anything of it, if it had just been one instance.

They must be trying to tell me something.

I just wish I could speak their language and figure out what it is.
