Originally a 600-page paperback book compiled from the TV and film scripts by Michael Okuda, Denise Okuda and Debbie Mirek published in 1994 by Simon & Schuster. The book is intended as a reference for writers and fans to find all the 'official' (that is, derived from an aired episode or film, excluding the animated series) information about any element of the Star Trek universe. Later editions were published on CD-ROM and expanded to cover the new filmed material released in the interim, as well as including video footage and colour illustrations. The book reveals a great deal of production trivia about the show as well as indicating that the crew have a strange fixation with Buckaroo Banzai.
