A town in Olmsted County in southeastern Minnesota with a population of just over 5000, less than 10 miles from Rochester, Minnesota-the home of the famous Mayo Clinic.

From the founding of the town until the late 1980s Stewartville was located near Lake Florence, a widening of the Root River caused by the building of a dam. Following the dam's collapse an extensive landscaping project was undertaken and the river was returned to its original state by the mid to late 1990s, improving both the environmental quality and the beauty of the area.

Stewartville's primary claim to fame is that it was the birthplace of Richard W. Sears, founder of Sears, Roebuck and Company.
