A novel which represents the start of a
trilogy of books by
Graeme Edwards.
It depicts the journey of Jonas Lightfoot into the world of Stone. Deliberately stranded on an island paradise, he meets Annie, a girl from the plains of Texas. They are caught in a volcanic eruption off the coast of Fiji in the 18th century, and are saved by a mysterious iceberg, containing the immortal dragon, Archan.
Archan steals Annies body, and Jonas and Annie/Archan emerge in the world of Stone. This world is like an infinite wall, tilted at 10 degrees.
The book then relates the story of the discovery of memory rods and the basilisk coven who created it. Archan then tries to steal another dragon body, and Jonas discovers his ability to control the memory rods.
Followed by Stone and Sea and Stone and Fire.
