Stop On Red Week - October 8 - 14, 2000

Devoted to getting people to stop for red light traffic signals. An initiative by the US Department of Transportation's Federal Highway Administration, partnered with DaimlerChrysler. Every year more than 1.8 million intersection collisions occur, including those cause by running red lights. In 1998 red light running caused to 89,000 crashes, 80,000 injuries and nearly 1,000 deaths. Public costs exceed 7 billion.
