Street Parade

cinders lined the street parade

clapping hands as bands did play

      marching beat in time

      marching feet in line

no wonder that the floats passed by

with chocolate fudge for wheels

rolling soft, three scoops three, rolling soft

as bands passed by

clapping time upon the back

    to ease a cough that wouldn't stop

        until it reached the parking lot
