A Manhattan venue of the 70s, a leading "loft jazz" venue founded by Sam Rivers and his wife Bea. Due to the lack of gigging opportunities for avant-garde musicians in the NYC jazz clubs, many Great Moments of the decade took place in lofts - Ornette Coleman, et al, used theirs to host concerts, rehearsals, and jam sessions. Rivbea hosted Alan Douglas' Wildflowers series of live recordings, featuring names from the 60s and up-and-coming 70s musicians.
