Super Bowl XVIII|Super Bowl XX

January 20, 1985

A superb performance by the 49ers helped to stifle Dan Marino and the Miami team, as San Francisco won its second Super Bowl title in Super Bowl XIX. This was probably one of the most exciting Super Bowls in history, if you're a fan of big offensive games.

Legendary quarterback Joe Montana became only the third player to be named Super Bowl MVP twice. He had a stellar game, passing for a new record of 331 yards with 3 touchdowns. He also ran for 59 yards, including a 6-yard touchdown run.

Attendance for the game was 84,059. Bill Walsh took home his second Super Bowl trophy, while Miami coach Don Shula became the second head coach to lose four Super Bowls.
