TMI filter

Too much information filter. A nifty little device or piece of software that would filter out those unwarranted details that you wish you didn't hear. Sometimes I wish this were on option on E2, or better yet, in real life.

Sometimes, you just don't wanna know.

Well true, but what if you don't have any nasty details? *sigh*

AKA the cure for information overload. It's assumed that all species have these built-in to some extent, but only advanced cultures require external aid to process the information recieved. I'm not sure if this is a positive or negative comment on culture though, as most of the information filtered out is created by the culture in the first place

I suppose you could also call it an Unformation Filter.
