TPS report is the most common type of paperwork that makes life a living hell for the
employees at
Initech. It's never made clear what exactly TPS stands for, but I suspect it's something like "total piece of shit".
The term TPS report has become generalized among geeks who have seen this film to mean any sort of mindless paperwork. If current usage continues, the TPS report may become the canonical example of useless forms.
