Ted Raimi is the younger brother of
Sam Raimi,
director of
Army of Darkness,
Evil Dead,
Evil Dead 2,
The Gift,
Spiderman, and other
movies. He has appeared in most of his
brother's
movies. He was born on December 14 of 1965 in
Detroit,
Michigan, the youngest of five children. The children not yet mentioned are
Ivan Raimi, a doctor with a couple of screenwriting credits to his name, Andrea Raimi, and Sander Raimi who
drowned in a
swimming pool accident while
vacationing in
Israel on a
scholarship at age 15.
He opted to pursue
acting over succeeding his mother as owner of a chain of
lingerie shops, succeeding his father as owner of some home
furniture stores, or building on his time as a
deejay in
high school. He has become a very versatile
actor, switching
styles and
roles easily.
He is currently most widely known as
Joxer from the
television series
Xena: Warrior Princess, in which he plays a charmingly inept
sidekick who dreams of matching
Xena's
heroics.
