Years ago, I went to pick up my son from his improvisation class. He was about 8 years old.

I walked in and they were playing temper tag.

In temper tag, you have to throw an instant temper tantrum on the spot when you are tagged. Then you try to catch someone else.

The teacher got tagged right after I walked in. He threw himself on the floor, yelled, screamed, pounded his fists and feet on the ground, jumped up and started chasing the next kid. I was bemused trying to figure out what they were doing.

My son explained when they were done.

I had an instant vision of the "medical staff" playing temper tag. The "medical staff" is the doctors and midlevel providers at the local hospital, not the hospital employees. We had three docs who were rather well known for their tempers. I thought how much steam and tension it would blow off and how much fun it would be to imitate the really grumpy ones.

I was Chief of Staff at the time, but I couldn't pull it off.

Today has been rather difficult and I really think a rousing round of temper tag would cheer me up.
