A terrifically bad film written and directed by Joseph Green and starring Jason Evers, Virginia Leith, and Adele Lamont. Released in 1962, the film revolves around a mad scientist's quest to find a body for his wife's head after her decapitation in an auto accident. Keeping the head on a bizarre life support system, he goes in search of beautiful women to provide the perfect replacement body.

The 82-minute movie was released in black and white, though the final (and most gory) reel was originally to be released in color. Although it was unrated in the United States, a shorter version was released to remove most of the violent imagery, stripping the film down to an exploration of psychosis. In 1993 the full movie was featured in an episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000, and it was released on DVD in 2000 (complete with Dolby Digital Sound and "rare behind-the-scenes photos").

This film is commonly listed among the worst movies of all time, perhaps in part because while it opens with the title The Brain That Wouldn't Die, the closing credits claim the title is The Head That Wouldn't Die.
