After a long, drawn-out scuffle over amenities, security deposits, botched renovations, and termites as big as watermelons, I have put good American greenbacks down on an apartment in the so-called Garden District (which is somewhat bereft of gardens) of this odd, seemingly backwards (backwards in the sense of dessert before dinner) place.
Beyond that, there is little to say, except that my couch is open to all, provided that you ask kindly and with a reasonable lead-time.
