The Exeter Text: Jewels, Secrets, Sex

Another classic lipogram from Georges Perec, a core member of OuLiPo, The Exeter Text uses all the spare letter E's missed out from A Void, and no other vowels in a crazy sexual tale of a jewel theft in a cathedral (a playful reworking of a family myth).

Les Revenentes, translated from the French by Ian Monk, retains Perec's self-enforced game rules by even disallowing the use of the letter Y as a full vowel (thus, 'yes' is allowed, but 'gypsy' not).
