The Wiretap Electronic Text Archive is a massive collection of text files; mostly scraps of information, also e-text versions of classic copyright-expired books. Regrettably, it has not been updated since 1997, but it's still a highly interesting place to visit.
Formerly at wiretap.spies.com, it is now located at <http://wiretap.area.com/>. Or, rather, that's the k00l new website. If you want to see Wiretap in its original glory, you must use Gopher (most web browsers grok Gopher, though). Go to wiretap.area.com with a Gopher client, or point a web browser at <gopher://wiretap.area.com/>.
