Supposedly a book written in 1949 by
Ronald P. Vincent about the study of
Lachrymology. Unlisted in the
Library of Congress, and with the author having no other published works, this book is possibly a
farce. Quotes from members of the band
Tool in various interviews include mentioning the book as a source of inspiration, but a copy of the book or anything relating to the "field" is unheard of. From

This is a band whose bio spoke of profound influence from an obscure 1949 text. Written by Ronald P. Vincent, 'The Joyful Guide To Lachrymology' reads as a literal study of
crying. It states, "where there is no pain, there is neither the reason nor desire to think or create."
Kind of an ironic title,
Joyful Guide to Lachrymology....

tears, as well as the
lachrymal glands, which are the glands in the eyes that produce tears.
