This is hands down the best book I have ever read. It's not just a collection of short stories, it is a very poetic look into the life of the modern day Native American. I was forced to read a book by a Native American author (Sherman Alexie, by the way) for the horrid institution that is high school. While, I expected that it would have alot of references to nature and other traditionally spiritual Native American things, it was suprisingly light on that side of things. What it did focus on was that Native Americans are real people, who have real problems, with the extra pressures of stereotypes and poverty. Highly recommended.
